FAQs
Who can apply for your programs?
Our programs are open to startups and SMEs across Africa and the diaspora. We prioritize African-led or Africa-serving businesses with at least one co-founder based in Africa. Diaspora-led teams must demonstrate strong local partnerships or operations.
What industries do you focus on?
We are largely sector-agnostic. However, we have a strong preference for tech-enabled businesses in agritech, healthtech, fintech, climate solutions, logistics, education, and digital services—especially those solving major continental challenges.
Is there a cost to join?
Most of our programs are fully sponsored by partners. In some cases, we charge a nominal fee for premium services such as investment readiness clinics or deal packaging. All costs are transparently disclosed before enrollment.
How are startups selected?
Startups are chosen based on founder strength, traction, market opportunity, and innovation. Our selection process also considers scalability, potential for impact, and alignment with the goals of each specific program.
What support do startups receive?
Support includes tailored training, mentorship, investment matchmaking, product development support, pitch refinement, and ongoing advisory through post-program check-ins.
How long do the programs run?
Zindua Impact Challenge typically runs for 6–8 weeks, Jenga Growth Studio for 3–6 months, and Vuka Capital Network offers ongoing engagement based on investor matchmaking cycles.
Do you invest directly?
We do not operate a venture fund, but we facilitate access to funding through our investor network. In select programs, we offer pilot grants, equity-free awards, or co-investment opportunities in collaboration with our partners.
Can NGOs or corporates partner with you?
Absolutely. We co-design and implement open innovation programs, technical sprints, and sector-specific accelerators with corporates, donors, NGOs, and foundations.
Can one startup join multiple programs?
Yes. Startups may begin with the Zindua Impact Challenge and later join the Jenga Growth Studio or the Vuka Capital Network once they meet criteria. Alumni are given priority consideration.
Do you support SMEs too?
Yes. Many of our services are well suited for scaling SMEs undergoing digital transformation, regional expansion, or seeking to raise capital.
Where are you based?
We are headquartered in Kenya with operational partners and network presence across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, and the diaspora. Most of our programs are hybrid or virtual to enable pan-African access.
What is the Zindua Impact Challenge?
It is an annual pan-African startup challenge that identifies bold founders building transformative solutions. Winners receive training, capital access, investor exposure, and ongoing technical assistance.
What is the Jenga Growth Studio?
This is our flagship accelerator for post-MVP and growth-stage startups. It includes masterclasses, mentorship, investor simulations, and growth-hacking sessions tailored to each startup’s stage.
What is the Vuka Capital Network?
VCN is our deal-sourcing platform that matches investor-ready startups with angel investors, VCs, and family offices across Africa and globally. We facilitate deal packaging and investor introductions.
What happens after the program ends?
We offer a strong post-program alumni network including continued mentorship, investor updates, access to exclusive funding opportunities, and features on our platform to attract partnerships.
How do I stay updated on new opportunities?
Subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on social media, or regularly visit our website. We publish open calls for applications, pitch days, and partnership announcements regularly.
