What stage should my startup be at to apply?

Your startup should be beyond the idea stage, ideally with active users, pilot traction, or paying customers. The program is designed for early to mid-stage startups building systems for scale.

Is Jenga suitable for non-tech startups?

Absolutely. While many applicants have tech-enabled solutions, we also welcome traditional businesses with strong growth potential and scalable models.

Do I need to be based in Africa?

No. Jenga Growth Studio is open to diaspora-based founders, provided your venture targets African markets and includes at least one Africa-based team member or co-founder.

How much time should I commit during the program?

Participants should expect to dedicate 6–8 hours weekly over the 12-week program, including live sessions, mentorship check-ins, deliverables, and group discussions.

What happens after the program ends?

Alumni retain access to SproutX resources, investor showcases, media visibility, and our post-program support platform, including referral networks.

How competitive is the selection process?

The selection process is highly competitive, as we receive applications from across Africa and the diaspora. We prioritize ventures with strong potential, clear traction, and committed founders.

Is there any funding or equity involved?

SproutX does not take equity. While Jenga itself doesn’t provide direct funding, selected startups gain investor exposure, pitch support, and entry into the Vuka Capital Network.

Do I need to submit a pitch deck?

Yes, a concise pitch deck (maximum 12 slides) is required as part of your application. This helps us evaluate your business model, traction, and vision.

Will I receive 1-on-1 mentorship?

Yes, all selected startups are paired with mentors based on their sector, growth goals, and stage. Mentorship is a core component of the Jenga experience.

Is participation fully virtual?

Primarily, yes. Core programming is delivered virtually to accommodate founders across regions. Optional in-person ecosystem meetups may be organized in select hubs.

Can I reapply if I’m not selected?

Yes! Many current participants were reapplicants. We encourage you to strengthen your business and reapply in the next cohort.

What if I can’t afford the application fee?

If you cannot pay the $15 fee due to financial hardship, please reach out to our support team. We want every founder to have a chance, regardless of their financial situation.
